Industrial & Manufacturing Engineer (SOC code 17-2112.00)

Industrial Management and Engineering Group seeks applicants for an Industrial & Manufacturing Engineer position to work in the St. Marys, Ohio area.

Develops and updates existing and future plant layouts (AutoCAD); develops layout for optimized materials staging and delivery to manufacturing operations; develops 2D AutoCAD layout for equipment utility connections including water, air, gas, electric, and communications; develops assembly/manufacturing processes to support new product or existing product improvements; develops plan to improve changeover activities to increase manufacturing throughput; identifies methods to ensure standardized work is followed and reduces process variation; works with manufacturing team members to develop continuous improvement initiatives; uses data collection methods such as time study, delay study, and work sampling; time studies existing work centers to identify waste and develop action plans for improvement; develops and maintains Quality Documentation including Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, Inspections Sheets, Work Instructions and Quality Control Visuals; utilizes pre-determined time standards to develop process times for new and existing processes; develops work instructions following required process sequence capturing all critical process steps; maximizes equipment capacity utilization; develops a roadmap and sets priorities to reach goals set for cost improvement, safety and efficiency, develops Future State Process Maps to improve handling of materials and reduction in indirect labor cost; develops Plan for Every Part (PEEP) to optimize inventory storage methods and frequencies; develops Work in Process (WIP) needed to support operation processes and improve flow; utilizes simulation software, Simul8 to evaluate and exploit bottlenecks and verify accuracy of plans for process improvement; evaluates customer manufacturing needs and addresses the needs; utilizes project Gantt charts to manage daily project schedules for keeping all tasks on schedule and to identify all potential delays; reports weekly progress to management teams; maintains company and customer files in accordance to the standard operating procedures (SOP); follows IMEG defined safety practices at both IMEG office and customer locations.

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. Must have three (3) months of experience in the job offered or as a Lean Manufacturing Engineering Intern.

Three (3) months of experience (inclusive of experience required heretofore) must have included the following:

  1. Analyzing the manufacturing and assembly process;
  2. Developing work instructions; and
  3. Working on 2D/3D designs.
